How To Make Soap
Soap making is a very interesting and rewarding skill.
Learning how to make soap is really simple and you can do it easily at home using simple ingredients, tools and equipments.
One of the best thing about soap making is that you can choose what type of ingredients and the kind of smell you want to add in your soap.
You can even decide what color your soap should be, the size and how it should be shaped. Round? Square? It's all up to you!
Before you start making your own soaps, it's important that you make sure that the ingredients you are using in your soap are 100% safe and that you or the person who is going to use it are not allergic to them.
There are basically three methods you can use to make a soap:
- cold process
- melt and pour
- rebatch method
The Cold Process
Learning how to make soap using the cold process will involve you to study about the use of the chemical called lye. It is important to note that too much lye can cause your soap to become harsh and ultimately make your skin dry. You only need to add a little lye to change the pH balance of your soap.
Melt And Pour
Using melt and pour to make soap is really simple, fast and your soap will come out nice and moisturizing. A Glycerin base is needed for this method of soap making.
Rebatch Method
The Rebatch method is perhaps the fastest way to make soap. You will need purchase a pre-made base from a soap maker but by using the rebatch method, your soap do not need to go through curing time and thus can be used instantly.
